The earliest of the ABB varieties, Imara commenced its primocane crop at the end of July when trialled at PCF Tongeren in 2012 and produced 50% of its 1.8kg/plant crop by early September. The berries are large and firm and have an outstanding shelf life. The fruit is uniform, attractively coloured and easily picked. Imara is less prone to darkening than Polka but does need picking on a regular basis. The variety is vigorous and strong growing, producing branched canes with small un-obstructive spines.
