Primocane varieties are cut down to ground level each year and grow a new cane which flowers later that summer. Some primocane varieties can be left to crop again the following spring on their floricane resulting in two crops from the same plant.

Please Note: The commercial management of these varieties is administered by Meiosis Ltd and is aimed at ensuring the widest possible availability to the grower along with a realistic return to the breeder.
All fruit producers of ABB raspberry varieties must complete and sign a Fruit Producers Licence.
Large growers, growing more than 3,000 plants, will be charged a signature fee of €350 and will be charged an annual royalty collected on the basis of the linear metres under production at a rate of between €0.50 and €0.40 per linear metre depending upon the total length in production.
Small growers, growing less than 3,000 plants in total of ABB varieties can grow plants without an anuual meterage royalty but will be charged a plant royalty of €750/1000 on plants supplied.
NB: For orders under 3,000 canes/pots in total the royalty rate must be included in the price @ €0.75/plant (£0.66/plant). For orders over 3,000 the customer will need to pay Meiosis Ltd a €350 licence fee. All customers to sign an ABB Fruit Growers Agreement.
